TRADING UPDATE
The first quarter of this year has produced satisfactory results with all areas of Club trading having exceeded or having come acceptably close to the performance in the first quarter of 2015.
This is especially pleasing having regard to the fact that Easter fell in the first quarter of this year, unlike last year.
As usual, all Bank covenants continue to be met.
RULE CHANGES
I reiterate that changes are necessary to our Club Rules. One big change is necessary due to a regulatory change under the Registered Clubs legislation, requiring us to reduce our Committee from ten (10) to nine (9) members.
In the course of making this change, we will take the opportunity to propose other changes to ensure that your Club can meet the challenges associated with the airspace development and generally of conducting business in this modern world. We intend to present the proposed changes to you in the second half of this year.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Don’t forget that the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in the Celebrity Room on Tuesday 24 May 2016 at 6:00pm.
If you are able to attend, please do so. The Club’s Annual Report and Statement of Accounts for 2015 and the outlook for 2016 will be presented.
The Business of the 2016 Annual General Meeting is also advertised in this magazine.
LIFE MEMBER LUNCHES
As usual, a resolution will be put to members at the AGM to elect new Life Members with 40 years continuous membership. If carried, celebratory lunches will be held for those 334 new Life Members in the Celebrity Room on Friday, 27 May 2016 and Friday 3 June 2016 at 12:00pm. At the lunches, Life Member badges will be presented.
This is always a wonderful occasion and our opportunity to recognise and thank those long standing members for their loyalty and support.
COMMITTEE ELECTIONS
The Committee elections will be held in May 2016. This election will be determined by a postal ballot and the results will be announced on Friday 27 May 2016. I urge all Gold, Silver and Life members to cast your vote.
The nominations for the 2016 Committee Elections close at 5.00pm on Friday, 29 April 2016. The notice in respect of Committee elections was published in the previous edition of the magazine.
